Long-distance move from Ontario to British Columbia

NEVER EVER USE THESE MOVERS

They arrived a day late for pick up which was beyond stressful and delivered 10 days late. Charged us for holding our possessions that we wanted ASAP

Then over charged us for 900 lbs

Nobody in the company would get back to me and I’m now blocked via email.

It cost us $1000 more than it should have

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE

Long-distance move from La Prairie, QC to Victoria, BC

Price gauge and many broken items.

I looked at different quotes for my 76 year old mom. Moving from Montreal to Victoria. I was quoted something completely different! Also added fees for this and that! Then she opens her boxes to find some of her sentimental belongings smashed or cracked! They wanted to compensate her $75! She paid them $1800 for 1690lbs??! Plus if she excepted, they stipulated she must NOT write anything negative! Huh! I’m avocating on behalf of her anyone else who has been gilted from Royal National Van Lines Calgary!

Customer service.

Attn: David
I moved from Vancouver to Toronto. The quote was in my budget. David was clear and guided me slowly about the procedure. Obviously, movers company hires sub contract for moving - they were fast and on time with ETA. When I got to Toronto, due to summer time is busy. I reached out to them and David was slick as in updating me about my ETA still in Vancouver. A week later the movers contacted me and ask me if I needed storage ? And is free of charge. Or to be deliver a certain date ? They were nice. A week or 2 pass. I have not heard. And reached out to the company. Another representative helped me and guided me to contact the movers. But even though my answer is solved. David still kindly took the time to reach out to me and apologize for the late reply. I honestly respect people getting back to me even though the job is complete.
David is awesome! Overall, the movers I had - uh I did have a few damages but hey I understand they are moving others stuff too. I don't blame them but if we hire a service we need to like invest in good boxes from walmart or home depot. We need to do our own extra sponge or cushion wrap ourselves. In conclusion I had a good experience with David. And anyone who reads this - David is your guy to go to!

Long-distance move from Barrie, ON to Calgary, AB

Highway Robbery.

My Fiance and I looked around for various quotes and came across this company. In the quote we were quoted $1500 for 5000lbs, I emailed the company back confirming this price and was told they had two dates available for the month of Sept. She never corrected me regarding the price. Upon deciding to book with this company the lady called me and YET AGAIN I confirmed the price and she said " yes". We were told our pick up time would be between 2-5pm at 530 I called the company who didn't seem to have any idea where the driver was. The driver called me 20 minutes later and told me he was going to be another 45 minutes. When they arrived their truck was almost full, when I questioned them on if my stuff would fit on the truck they shrugged stating "We don't know yet; we might have to come back tomorrow and get the rest of what doesn't fit" ( this was another company that was subcontracted out to do the pickup) I told them that was unacceptable because we were leaving that night to start the drive from Ontario to Alberta, and the drive just laughed and said " sell your bed then" .. After about 2 hours they managed to squeeze everything in the truck and we headed out on our way ( 4 hours late) I called today regarding the new address for the drop off and was told my total was $2600 for under 5000lbs.. the lady admitted that the quote was calculated wrong but refused to honor the price and there are all these extra fees I was never told about along with a packing fee which I didn't ask them to do and now they basically have my stuff hostage unless I pay over $1000 more than I was quoted.

Avoid this company! They are scammers!

We did our move with this company from Montreal to Vancouver. 50% of our belongings were damaged and many were stolen (never arrived to us). We lost about $17000 in costs for damaged belongings + paid $10000 for moving (two houses in to one). After filling complaint we waited for almost 60 days and NO single answer from company was received. They never offered any compensation for damages to our belongings. It was near impossible to get in touch with them as soon as claim case happened, company refused to talk nor provide any details about the claim. On another note it is important to mention that company, while knowing that our belongings were damaged, before delivery of our belongings forced us to use certified check to pay for the delivery. They did everything to avoid accepting credit card. Never, I beg you, never deal with these guys from Royal National Van Lines - they are scammers. We now work on legal case against this business and want to put it on media to ensure that many Canadians will be able to read details of this case. Thank you for your time.

Long-distance move from Drayton Valley, AB to Abbotsford, BC

If you want to pay to be screwed over this company is for you!

This company was a complete nightmare for my sister when she moved from Alberta to BC.

They were originally going to be picking up her items between 4 and 7pm, we organized our day to be free anytime they called to let them into the storage locker. They call around 7 to say they will be late, my sister was nice and said she would wait the extra 1-2 hours. They call at 9pm to say that they didn't have room in the truck for any of her things, this is without seeing what she had and calling at 9:00 at night.

My sister asks what the plan is going forward as she was flying out to BC in the next few days and they had originally planned with the company to have her things there the day after they arrived so they could unpack and move into their new house.

After 15 days her things are finally delivered after being given the smallest discount ever she is charged an extra $800 from the original quote.

If you want an awful experiance and pay almost $2000 to have your stuff picked up 10 days late (add on that extra storage locker fee) wait an extra 5 days because they made stops along the way to screw over anyone else who hired them to move their things so lets add in all the things she had to get while she waited ( a bed, couch, cleaning supplies, some extra clothes, etc to anything you might need while you wait half a month for your things.

Long-distance move from Saskatoon, SK to Sussex, NB

Horrible experience- Saskatchewan to New Brunswick.

I got a quote from Royal National Van Lines to move my 1 bedroom condo, it was $2045. Then realizing I had lots of boxes I called to see if I could get a more accurate quote. Each time I spoke to Robyn who was so pleasant. She said walk through and tell me what you have. I did and the new quote was $2378.
I then decided to get rid of some heavier stuff to cut down the weight. Gave my kids a china cabinet, large wooden stand, my boxspring & mattress. Community living took extra dishes and many other items. I was expecting to come in around $2000. I waited just short of one month to receive my furniture. The driver called to say they were on their way and I asked if I could get an invoice to have the bank draft ready for them. He said would have company email me one.. it came in at $4003.!!
i made numerous calls and was hung up on several times as I wanted it reweighed. After my brother in law stepped in and also the local RCMP they agreed to reweigh it in my town at local certified scales. I had been invoiced for 3890 lbs., it actually weighed 2022 lbs. I had given them a bank draft for $2500. A deposit of $200. And &1300 cash. The driver gave me back the $1300. cash. only because my brother in law was there I believe. I have emailed amd called the company requesting a new invoice and also to be reimbursed but they will not even give me the courtesy of a reply.
Royal National Van Lines is a fraudulent company. Very dishonest and should be charged!! I should add that I have 2 damaged chairs and boxes are ripped apart. Driver said send pictures to company for reimbursement - that's not going to happen.

Worst. Company. Ever.

Was quoted 10-13 calendar days. Took 22 calendar days. Called, emailed, followed up endlessly. Finally received the information that I was misquoted - should have been business days, and that even that quote would now be delayed. Was promised updates from dispatch, reception, sales manager - never received so much as an email, let alone a returned phone call. After living in an empty house with an infant for almost two weeks, and having to buy all kinds of essentials to get through, I was offered 4% off my total invoice. WHAT A JOKE. Apparently, this was "generous" as her initial offer was less than 2%. I used this company in 2013 and had a good experience, but their staff, service and overall respect for customers is an absolute disgrace. Rent a u-haul moving pod, I hear people have good experiences with those. Don't give this company your money, and save yourself the headache and inconvenience.

Do Not Book This Company !!

Do not book with these guys.
I had stuff moved from Calgary to Quebec. Was told 2 weeks. It took them almost a month and half. All they gave me was 50$ off and that was because I had to fight for it.
I got my stuff and everything was dirty. When the movers moved the stuff inside the house they were not cautious at all. Customer service is non-existent over at this company. Price was the only good thing but I would actually pay more next time and know that people actually take care of my stuff and that my stuff will be there on time. Had to buy a new mattress because of this crappy company. Anyways, I strongly suggest NOT to book with them.

Long-distance move from Oshawa, ON to Dieppe, NB

User be Ware.

Well look out people I moved from Oshawa Ontario to Dieppe New Brunswick. My guote was for $1200 for 2000 pounds. They picked up my stuff on Aug 27 and then charged a packing fee of 290 also wanted what they call a long carry fee of $150 ( like I lived in an apartment building on the main floor and the truck was parked in front of the building what do they expect, anyway I was supposed to have delivery between September 12-15 well when they called me to say the new price would be $2417 due to the weigh I freaked. I told them you gave me a quote by coming in and looking and saw I did not have a full 1 bedroom unit. I had no dining set no bed frames. No tables and they said they would re weigh. Of course I said yes please but they did not advise me that by re weighing it would mean I would miss my truck. And of course they come back and say the weight is 3300 pounds. So once again FRESK OUT. I decide I need my stuff. Then they tell me they can not get it out until September 10th and I will have to pay storage. Well that did it. I have had enough. But still no stuff. So now that I calm down u say ok just get me my stuff. So I was told it should be here between September 12th - 15th guess what NADA now I am totally over the edge and call new sate September 18th- 24th. PLWASE PEOPLE READ THIS AND DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY YOU ARD BETTER OFF TO DO IT YOURSELF PR HIRE A COUPLE OF GUYS AND RENT A TRUCK.
